Shipping/Transport

3G trees are shipped with their roots stretch wrapped in plastic unless arrangements are made to return the 3G pots.  The plastic wrap secures the root mass well and reduces  waste.  Sometimes we have 3G and 5G pots from landscapers that trees can be put them into temporarily until you plant them.  These work well as shipping containers.  3X3 seedlings can be conveniently boxed up and shipped.   It is probably most cost effective to have you pick up the trees directly from the nursery. We will have them ready to go when you arrive and they can be loaded quickly and you can be on your way. Other arrangements are possible.  Please call us for additional information at 740-815-3230.

Shipping Seedlings
	Seedlings grown in flats can be sent economically via 3rd party carriers. We pull the seedlings from the flats and individually wrap each root ball with stretch wrap; then bundle them together. They will be packed and shipped in a sturdy cardboard box and sealed.  Appropriate phytosanitary documentation will be included with each order.

Shipping 3G Trees

Please use this information as a guide. We have had as many as 40-3G trees in the back of a short bed pick up truck. We could probably get as many as 50 into a standard bed truck if we were creative. Our trailer is a 16' flatbed trailer with the sides built up 4' with plywood. Across the top we have a tarp supported by conduit and bungeed to the plywood. This trailer has easily transported 100 trees and could possibly transport 200 if we stacked them carefully. Trees are laid down in the truck bed or trailer and the tarp is folded over them. The edges of the tarp are then tied so that it doesn't flap and shred on the trip home. During the growing season the leaves must be protected from the wind. We would not recommend transporting any trees without proper covering.
